FORTUNA IMPEX PTE LTD.  is a privately  owned Limited Company formed in March 1996 by a group of Electronics and Computer Engineers having group experience of 35 years in the field of Microprocessor based system for Industrial applications. The Company is headed by a group of professional technocrats .

With this wide experience in the field of Microprocessor and PC’s, FORTUNA,the manufacturing company was formed. The Company identified the Attendance Recording System as its first product.  Bar Code Technology was selected for the identification needs because of advantages such as non-contact sensing, long life, wide acceptance and ease of production. The product was indigenously designed and launched in August 1996. The entire Hardware design, component selection, Assembly level program for the Attendance Terminal and product engineering is being done by the well-knit, in house team of Fortuna.

The Company then diversified in the field of Access Control System and designed various state of the art products. These products have applications in premises where the access to an area needs to be controlled by filtering out unauthorized people and allowing access to valid personnel.

The company has a balanced team of Software engineers working on the system software and the Application Software around the productline of Fortuna. The company has developed a MIS package for the Time office requirement of Indian Industries under DOS and Windows (multi-user Version). The package has been implemented at various customer sites including Industries, where the manner of working is complex. Fortuna software Professionals are continuously working on the software and release a upgrade every Quarter. Fortuna is also providing Custom Built software Solution for Attendance Systems.

The company identified the scope of SMART CARD Based Application in the modern era of Multi Application Read/Write Cards. The team developed a indigenous Contactless Reader/Writer with PC connectivity.

The company has vertically diversified into BIOMETRICS by developing a Fingerprint scanner based Access Control and Attendance System. It has also developed the core technology of storing fingerprint on Smart Cards, which leads to secure individual authentication. It can be used for ATM & e-commerce. In the near future the company has potential to export its core technology products.

FORTUNA had been also working on Battery operated  Hand Held Data Loggers and successfully completed a product for Tea Industry for Weighment of green Leaf being plucked at Tea Gardens with Proximity Card  based identification of the pluckers.This has created ripples in Tea Industry as it eliminates the manual work of writing the weight against persons and then further entering the data in computer giving rise to malpractices and mistakes apart from saving time and managing paperless operation.The product is in use at various Tea Gardens in North Eastern India.

FORTUNA has also developed Hand Held Terminals with Proximity Card Reader for identification and TCP/IP connectivity for on-line application wherein the requirement is to feed the data on field for online updation in the Server Database in LAN enabled environments. This is specially useful in Clubs and Merchants establishments
